CAPACITY BUILDING COLLABORATION

NIW has been working with various Government interventionist agencies to build welding personnel development capacity. Notable amongst them are:

Petroleum Technology Development FUND (PTDF)

Working with PTDF over the last 12 years, NIW has been able to develop over 30 Welding training centers with capacity to train from 40 to 200 persons at the same time. From a single MMA process to over 6 processes

Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

Working with NDDC since 2007, the region has witnessed the established of welding training Centre’s across the 9 States in the region. This development has made it possible to conduct training in welding within the region and by the people of the region. Over 20 training centers has been established in this region with the support of the commission under the supervision of NIW.

United Nations Office for Projects (UNOPS)

NIW worked with United Nations Office for Project Operations (UNOPS) to develop a plan for the establishment of Welding training centers in the Niger Delta where they undertake welders training in collaborations with some States in accordance with NIW/IIW guidelines. UNOPS is an arm of United Nations.
